Every Child Deserves Safe Connectivity

We're building the infrastructure for safe childhood in the digital age.

Kiddo Network Story

The Problem That Started It All

In 2022, Sarah Mwangi gave her 9-year-old son his first smartphone. Within a week, he had stumbled onto inappropriate content, received a message from an adult stranger, and was spending 6+ hours daily on YouTube.

Sarah, a software engineer in Nairobi, knew parental control tools existed. She spent an entire weekend trying to set them up—confusing interfaces, conflicting features, settings that didn't stick.

"If I can't figure this out, what about parents without technical backgrounds? What about working parents without 10 hours to research solutions?"

She shared her frustration with two colleagues: James Kimani (former Safaricom product manager) and Amara Okonkwo (child psychologist). They realized the problem wasn't just technology—it was the entire approach.

Kiddo Network was born.
